About
Hello and welcome to the BG Views Developer Blog. If you already read the snippet to the right, then you have a general idea of what this blog is about (alternatively, you could go read the snippet to the right before continuing here - I can wait).
First, a somewhat brief history of our web site.
In the beginning we hosted the site entirely ourself, and it was good. It took a lot of people however. At first the site was done in BBEdit, then in Dreamweaver, and then we partnered with a provider who gave us a slick CMS to use, and greatly lowered the amount of man hours it took to produce our site.
Said partner got bought by bigger college media company. Rinse and repeat about five times (no joke) and now we are partnered with College Publisher, who themselves just got bought by mtvU.
We are making a rather large leap in the web space for our college newspaper, The BG News. We are redesigning our site in polopoly, which is the new CP5 platform (they threw the baby - CP4 - out with the bathwater when they acquired College Publisher I guess); we are moving away from a strait news site (more on that later); and we are re-branding our online presence.
Things are not done yet, so sit tight and continue reading this blog, and you will begin to piece together how we are poised to take over the world (oh come on, you knew that was coming).
